Maro is a beautiful big boy with a gentle soul. ❤️ At first, he can seem intimidating in his kennel, as he may bark, growl or act defensively when unfamiliar people approach his gate. This behaviour comes from fear and the difficult experiences he had with humans in the past. Because of this, Maro needs someone patient and understanding who will give him the time he needs to feel safe.

Once he trusts you, Maro becomes a completely different dog. Outside of his kennel, he is sweet, playful, and very gentle. He absolutely loves affection and will happily enjoy endless cuddles with the people he loves. Despite everything he has been through, he still has so much love to give and forms very strong bonds with his family.

Maro would do best in a calm home without children or other dogs, where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. He is also still recovering physically from his past, including some ongoing issues with his fur caused by previous neglect and abuse. With proper care, patience, and love, we hope he will continue to heal and finally enjoy the happy life he deserves.

Maro is especially close to Mara (female), and the two share a very strong bond. It would be amazing if they could be adopted together, as they clearly bring each other comfort and happiness. 🐾
